What is CLA and Why should you care?

CLA is one of the precious “good fats” that are so scarce in our food supply. CLA stands for Conjugated Linoleic Acid and may be one of the most important anti-cancer agents from nature that we are discovering. Don’t you think it’s ironic that the 100% grass-fed beef we know to be healthy for so many reasons is now being discovered as a great cancer fighter, while the feedlot beef is most definitely an outright cancer causer.

CLA has been shown to block all three stages of cancer in animals (initiation, promotion, and metastasis), most only block one stage. While human studies are still new, there have been recent studies that found women with the most CLA had the lowest risk of cancer.

The highest concentration of CLA is found in 100% grass-fed beef, grass-fed lamb, and other exclusively grass-fed livestock. Wild game is another good source of CLA since most “wild” game is 100% grass-fed, too.
